We always recommend keeping the lines of communications open, but if you think your neighbour is unlikely to consent to the planned works, it is worth getting us involved at an early stage as, depending on the works you are proposing to the Party Wall, obtaining agreement could take up to two months. We act as party wall surveyor for the building owner or the adjoining owner on all Party Wall matters. The most important task that we do as part of the process, is prior to the work commencing, we will prepare a full Schedule of Condition of the adjoining owner’s property. It is essential that this is done accurately so that any subsequent damage can be properly attributed. If there are two surveyors this is prepared by the building owner’s surveyor and proofed by the adjoining owner’s surveyor. Find out more.
